Miami Gateway Arch
Miami Gateway Arch
Miami Gateway Arch is a mirror-image of the famous St. Louis Gateway Arch designed by famed Finnish-American architect Eero Saarinen, it will become a welcoming portal for the world entering the southeastern end of the United States. Straddling Government Cut, the main thoroughfare for cruise ships at PortMiami, the world's largest cruise ship port, it will stand 630-feet high but unlike its original counterpart, it will not offer rides to the top. You can learn more about the construction of the Gateway Arch here and an exhaustive account of the history of the project including the science behind the "catenary arch" here.
